Kakamega Yearly Meeting Projects

Empowering through faith-driven initiatives.

Bee Keeping

1. Bee Keeping Project

We currently manage 11 beehives in the Kakamega Yearly Meeting forest. This eco-friendly venture not only supports biodiversity and pollination but also provides natural honey, contributing to the church’s income and sustainability efforts.

Sugarcane Farming

2. Sugarcane Farming

On our 3.5-acre land in Irungu, we have dedicated resources to sugarcane farming. This agricultural project supports long-term financial growth while involving local church members in meaningful agricultural activity.

Maize and Beans Production

3. Maize and Beans Production

At Irungu location, 1.5 acres are under cultivation for maize and beans. These staple crops help in supporting food security and may also provide support for the feeding programs within our ministries.

Irungu Bible College

4. Irungu Bible College (Upcoming)

Plans are underway to establish Irungu Bible College, a theological training institution that will be affiliated with Friends Theological College (FTC). This college will be instrumental in training future leaders, pastors, and missionaries from within our yearly meeting and beyond.

Church Bus Project

5. Church Bus Project

Our United Society of Friends Women (USFW) is spearheading a Bus Project, aimed at easing transport for ministry, church events, and community outreach. This initiative will greatly enhance mobility for church activities across regions.

Dairy Project

6. Dairy Project

The Quaker Men Fellowship is leading a Dairy Project, focusing on livestock farming for milk production. This project not only contributes to church sustainability but also provides training and livelihood support to men within the church.
